Easy Blue and White Tablescape

It doesn't get more classic than a blue and white color combination.  And when it comes to a table, it is always my go-to combination when I need to put a table together in a rush.  It just works every time!!!

When I created this table, I knew that I would forgo the tablecloth because I wanted to keep things easy and simple.  Instead, I went with a white linen runner which immediately added timeless appeal to the table. Since I had no luck with fresh flowers at the store this weekend, I used one of my faux flower arrangements for my centerpiece.  A bit of a twist but I think worked perfectly with the tones I used to put this table together...  It's all about being resourceful these days and using what you already have, right?

The yellow accents in our sunroom work beautifully with the blue; how gorgeous is the morning light in this room?  No wonder this room is my favorite place to be on Sunday mornings!!  I LOVE sitting here with a warm cup of coffee and my favorite magazines.

I knew that I would be using my beloved Blue Willow dinnerware for this table.  It's beautiful and striking on it's own and that made it the ideal choice for this casual table.

I began my place stack with a whitewash water hyacinth round placemat.  A great choice for everyday use - easy to clean, playful and not too formal.  I then used the Blue Willow dinner and salad plates. To give the place setting a dressy feel, I simply placed an embroidered napkin on top of the salad plate.  Such an easy way to add the perfect amount of elegance without fussing too much.

Vintage Mikasa stemware and Oneida silver plate flatware add classic elegance while crystal and silver accents bring a bit of shimmer.

This table would be great for lunch or a casual dinner; I truly hope that you have enjoyed it.

Remember, keep it simple and have fun creating...

Hugs,

Janet

  4. How glad I am to find you here again, dearest Janet!
After so much time, I can write a comment to an amzing post of yours, those posts I’ve never forgotten!
I’ve been away from the web since the reseraches and the drafting of the history essay I wrote for an Italian publisher about the Habsburgs took up all the time I had.
    But I’ve finally come back.
Sending blessings on your Sunday and new week ahead
