An Autumn Afternoon Tea

Hi friends!  How are you all doing?  Can you believe Thanksgiving is just ten days away!  This year has been one for the books for sure but as difficult as it has been for so many of us, there are still plenty of things to be thankful for.  I am sure many of you agree.

As the colors change and the air cools here in Jersey, I like to celebrate the season with an Autumn Afternoon Tea. This year, I decided to set-up my early fall tea table outdoors - under a blanket of warm yellow in my favorite corner of the yard.

I find autumn to be the perfect time to treat yourself, family and friends to a relaxing Autumn Afternoon Tea.  We are all so busy during this time of the year, that taking a few minutes to recharge may be a good idea.  Besides, autumn and tea go hand in hand.

Can you picture yourself here under this delightful setting surrounded by the gorgeous fiery reds, browns and yellow tones that the season brings?

It doesn't take much to create a gathering that your friends will to enjoy and remember fondly.  Buy your favorite tea time sweet treats and bring out your pretty china.

This collection is my treasured Mikasa china with pattern name - Park Rose Burgundy.  It's a pattern that I've had for over twenty years and one that I use every autumn.  I will also use it for years to come.

I believe you can still find a few pieces of this pattern through Replacements if you are interested.

I hope this post brings you a bit of happiness and inspires to create your own beauty where ever you are.

Sending hugs and beauty your way.

  1. Oh, Janet - your autumn outdoor tea is just splendid! How I miss hosting friends for tea during this nightmare of a pandemic.
But the hope for a cure/vaccine keeps me going. Your china is beautiful - understated elegance to the max! How I would love to be sitting there for tea with you.

Stay safe, stay well, stay hopeful.

  2. I love your outdoor tea table! Especially love your flatware set. So unique and beautiful!

  3. Janet, your table setting is just lovely ! Autumn is indeed the perfect time for a tea party and anyone would love coming to yours. I am crushing over your beautiful floral centerpiece. Did you create it or purchase it? In either case, would love to know how you put it together or from which company you bought it. In which part of New Jersey do you reside? I grew up in Moorestown (southern NJ) and now live next to Longwood Gardens in southeastern PA. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  4. Wow!! Nice outdoor tea table!!
