Easy Neutral Spring Tablescape

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. Today, I'm happy to be sharing an easy Spring tablescape.  I know that spring is all about soft pastels, and you know how much I love those sweet tones, but I really wanted to bring you a table that anyone can pull together in a matter of minutes.   The inspiration for this table were the white tulips that I purchased from my local market.  I love their simplicity and elegance!  They are one of the first flowers to bloom in springtime and with the promise of more pretty flowers to come.    I used everyday creamy white plates, simple glassware, traditional silverplate flatware and a yellow and cream striped tablecloth to style this table.  Clean, fresh and a wonderful change of pace! I began with a yellow and cream striped tablecloth.  It is ideal for styling a table that is attractive, welcoming and a reminder of the season. For my centerpiece, I just used a simple pitcher

Easy Irish Soda Recipe

One of my favorite things about Saint Patrick's Day is the delicious Irish Soda Bread.  I've never made it before because I always though that the process and recipe would be too complicated.  It was not until I watched a recent Episode of Barefoot Contessa, my favorite show on Food Network, that I realized that making homemade Irish Soda wasn't so scary.   I was so excited to see that she would be making one of my favorite Saint Patrick's Day treats.  And she made the process appear so simple.  But leave it to Ina Garten to make everything look easy and effortless!   This recipe is so simple to make (no proofing required), and great for someone who is new to the world of bread making like me.  The only twist I gave to this recipe is the dried apricots just because I had them around and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicate  sweetness and texture that it added to the bread. Frankly, this delicious and light bread can be made any time of the year.  Slather i

Easy Soft Tone Spring Tablescape

With Spring just a few weeks away, I can't help but think of cheerful fresh flowers, Spring gatherings, and soft color palettes.  It's a season full of brand new possibilities and lots of pretty spring tables.  Which means that I get to create lots of spring inspired tablescapes in the next few weeks! Building a beautiful Spring or Easter tablescape does not have to be a big production.  In fact, it's a fun way to incorporate sweet pastel tones, seasonal flowers, and lots of spring feels onto the table.  So today, I am going to be showing that putting a  Spring or Easter tablescape takes just a few minutes. Building a Beautiful Soft Tone  Spring Tablescape Like any styled table, the secret to putting together a table in a matter of minutes, is having a few basics on hand and layering, layering, and more layering.  I don’t believe that you have to have a different place-setting for each and every holiday or turn of the season.

Spring Decorating With Tulips

Hello friends!  It's been gloomy, cold and snowing here in Jersey and I refuse to let it get me down!  Since winter is not quite ready to move on yet, I am bringing on a bit on spring into our home with some pretty tulips.    I just love dreaming of pretty flowers, spring cleaning and waiting for my lilacs to bloom.  And why not give everyday kitchen wares a little spring touch to lighten up mood. Tulips are the one flower that say "spring" to me.  They are beautiful, cheery and and fuss-free, making them perfect to display in an pitcher.       For me, spring decorating is as easy as adding some seasonal flowers in a vase, bringing out some cheery linens and placing some fresh lemons in a bowl.  It's easy everyday style that lightens up a room and enlivens any room. These pretty lavender napkins are from Terrain.  One of my favorite Home and Garden stores that I frequent.  I bought them last year so I hope they are still
