Creating a Cozy Dining Room & Master Bedroom
Hello everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. It's great to be back after a little break from blogging. I am feeling refreshed and full of creative inspiration for 2019.
Thank you for being here today. So happy that you came! Today, I am excited to be part of a group of 15 bloggers that came together to bring you the Cozy Winter Homes Blog Hop hosted by our friend Amber Lyon Ferguson of Follow The Yellow Brick Home to share our ideas for creating a cozy and warm winter home. If you are coming over from Carol from The Red Painted Cottage, welcome! Make sure to check out all the links at the bottom of my post for more beautiful home decor inspiration.
We all know that winter can be dull and uninviting. Especially, after the holidays are over. That's when are homes can really feel a bit cold and boring. It can be challenging to make our homes feel warm and cozy in between the busy decor of the holidays and spring time. But the world appears to be bleak and cold outside, I am inspired to decorate our home in soft pastel tones with a few hints of color that remind me that spring is not too far away.
The Dining Room
Our dining room goes from the glam of the holidays to romantic and soft. There is still a bit of glam but it's toned down with soft tones, delicate linens and delicate accessories.
I love the evening light in our dining room. Lamps, chandeliers and candlelight are always a great way to add ambiance and warmth to a room.
Neutral is my preferred color palette for a creating a classic and elegant room. To give your room an updated look, change your accent pieces and wall decor. During the winter months, I keep the accessories light and . Colorful wall art gets put away and mirrors that reflect the evening light get added to the walls. I love the glamorous look that mirrors bring to a space. They make a stunning focal point without overwhelming the room. Decorative pieces with touches of gold are kept for a bit of elegance.
The Master Bedroom
My favorite room in our home is our bedroom. It is my little hideaway, my peaceful sanctuary! When I decided to give our master bedroom a makeover, I knew that I wanted to create a space that felt welcoming, serene and bright. Everything that I need at the end of a long, hard day. So color was key! We decided to keep the walls bright and chose to have an accent wall in a pale silvery blue. And let me tell you, this room makes you feel so good. It is a room to get a good night’s sleep. Cozy and warm for sure!
Spa-like muted blues and creams, with touches of pink and gold for contrast.
Add some shiny elements and stylish art to give your room a modern feel. Don't be afraid to mix it up. Mix and match bronze, brass, silver and gold elements. Antiques with modern decorative pieces. You get it! Ultimately, it's about creating a home that you love and giving your home a welcoming vibe.
I hope I have inspired you to create your own Cozy Winter Home. Thank you for your visit. May you all have a beautiful and cozy winter season. Next up on the blog hop is Carol Bluesky at Home. Be sure to give her a visit too for more pretty tabletop inspiration.
