Fall Home Tour & Entertaining Blog Hop

Hello everyone, It's time for a fall tour!!  I am so excited to be teaming up with 28 other decor bloggers to bring you this fun Fall Home Tour and Entertaining Blog Hop hosted by Angelina of Peonies and Orange Blossoms.

Today, I am opening the doors of our home to give you an glimpse of how I decorate our home for the autumn season.  If you are visiting my blog for the first time, a big welcome to you.  For those of you coming over from Leanna's lovely home at Faeries and Fauna, thank you for coming over.  How charming is Leanna's home?

I still can't believe that Autumn is only a day away but I am ready to embrace it. Fall is by far my favorite season to decorate and as September comes around, our 1912 Colonial Home gets decked up in all the glorious burnished hues of the autumn season.  To me, these colors impart warmth and hospitality.

My decor style is a bit Old-World meets contemporary comfort and our foyer is decorated to reflect that.  It's what I call rustic and refined!!

An old fashion radiator is bedecked with vintage pieces, weathered books, fresh pumpkins in orange and light yellow and a floral arrangement in crimson foliage in a cozy vignette welcome visitors into our home.

In our living room, I like to keep things low key and comfy.  My intention is to give it a cozy feel year round but in the fall, I like to make it more inviting. Using a warmer color palette helps me achieve that welcoming feel.

A few French Style pieces of furniture, Crystal Chandelier and grand Gold Gilded mirror with plenty of curves and beautiful detailing give our living room a bit of a Parisian vibe.

For those of you that already follow me, you know that I have a romantic heart. I have a soft spot for things with patina and pieces with ties to the past.  Many of my most beloved treasures have been found at flea markets and antique shops.  These vintage finds go hand in hand with modern pieces  so don't be afraid to mix the old with the new.  To mix rustic with refined.  Create your own personal style.

Our dining room also reflects that old world and contemporary style that I love. The beautiful wall art in gold tones and deep blues was the inspiration for the decor in this room.

For this table, I kept things simple.  I wanted to create a focal point but did not want anything that was over the top.  Something that was nature inspired and easy to put together. So I grabbed a plain white bowl from the kitchen, added a few orange and creamy pumpkins, a little greenery and it all came together in less than five minutes.

A few well-chosen decorative accents add interest and elegance to the room.

Many happy and precious memories are created around our table.  It is where
we like to make our friends and family feel how truly important they are to us. And as much as I love creating a truly beautiful table, my goal is to always make our guests feel comfortable and relaxed at our table.

I also enjoy preparing yummy meals for my family and friends.  It is something that give me great joy!  For this Fall Home and Entertaining Tour, prepared two desserts.  One was a delicious pumpkin flan/creme caramel and the other one, was a recipe for the pretty and mouth watering Apple Pie and Creamcheese jars. (Click link above for recipe)

White plates are my go-to when I want to keep things easy and stress-free. They are an excellent starting point for setting a table.  To add a bit of splash to my place setting, I always try to find a decorative element that echoes the season.  I was thrilled when I found these adorable wooden signs at my local fall fair a few weeks ago.  They are the perfect finishing touch...

Don't judge, but I am a sucker for desserts...  And one is never enough!

Here is the ultimate fall dessert.  A pumpkin creme caramel/custard creme... Trust me, you will love this.   I will share the recipe for this incredible dessert later this week.

Thank you for visiting me today.  I hope you enjoyed my fall home tour and have left feeling a bit inspired.  I am the last tour today, so be sure to visit Kim Power Style tomorrow for more fall inspiration.

Wishing you a lovely autumn season..

Janet

9 Steps for Hosting The Ultimate Spring Birthday Tea Party

Hi friends - I've missed you all.  Things are rapidly changing for us all.  Many of us are working from home these days, stopped gathering with family and weekend outings are basically trips to the supermarket to restock.  It's the least that we can do to help stop the spreading of this horrific virus that is changing the world as we know it.  That being said, I am so glad that I got to spend time with family and friends two weeks ago when we all came together for the celebration of my Goddaughter Daniella's birthday.  We had a blast and the memories made are ones that will live in my heart forever.     My sincerest thank you to everyone that helped me put this beautiful event together.  Especially my cousin, Jennifer of Having Fun Craft s, for making all the gorgeous place cards and backdrops.  They were a beautiful addition to the overall decor.  A big thank you and hug to my niece Ericka for flying in from Florida to help me put it all together and to the amazi

Wood Box Rustic Floral Arrangement Tutorial

So what do you do with an old wooden bit box found at a flea market???  Well, the answer is very simple for those of us that love all things vintage and worn...  We display flowers of course.   And luckily, I scored big on my trip to my local grocery store yesterday. Our flower vendor had the most spectacular roses in stock.  I couldn't believe how gorgeous they were.  Two tone roses in the most delicate soft shades of pink and fuchsia.  I knew these roses were meant for me!!!  I grab two bunches and practically ran home to snap a few shots of them and arrange them to showcase their timeless beauty. So today, I am sharing a tutorial on how I made this rustic centerpiece...  The best part of this tutorial, is that there are no fancy materials needed.  The only items required are the flowers, a few glass tumblers, water and floral shears or scissors.  And in less than 10 minutes, you will have a spectacular centerpiece that will rival any one that you may purchase at a Floris

A Country Christmas Tablescape

Until this Christmas, I had no idea that I was going to be having a little obsession with vintage trucks. Specifically, red pickup trucks.  Me, the girl that loves to decorate with delicate flowers and romantic fabrics.  Hard to believe but it is true!!!  And decorating with vintage cars is seems to be having a moment..  They are everywhere!! So today, I am happy to share one of my most pinned and shared tablescapes.  It is my Country/Farm house themed Christmas table which showcases my latest find. You guess it!  A red pickup truck.  It was just too adorable to pass up.  I didn't know what use it would have in my decor when I first brought it home but it quickly became the inspiration for all of our Christmas decorating the last two holiday seasons. Such a fun piece to own with a great vintage vibe too.   My whimsical table begins with a distressed wood charger in antique white, topped with simple white plates and Pier 1 Imports Glad Tidings Porcelain Salad plates.  I al
