Shane Confectionery ~ A Nostalgic Candy Shop In Philadelphia

Philadelphia's landmark Shane Confectionery is considered the oldest continuously run candy shop in the United States.  Established is 1863 by candy making dynasty Herring and Daniel S. Dengler. It remains a beloved fixture of the historic downtown district of Philadelphia.  Today it is owned by brothers Ryan and Eric Berley. The Berley Brothers have lovingly restored the shop to its original beauty and charm.  Cabinetry has been restored and painted in the same color scheme as Independence Hall .  The marble counters have all been buffed and polished.  Tin ceilings have been pressed.  Antique brass scales and cash registers have been taken apart and shined.  Everything just gleams... Restful Days

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, cuddle with your loved ones, eats lots of your favorite foods and watch plenty of fun movies!!   I must confess that I have been in a bit of a funk lately.  Feeling a bit down and uninspired.  Perhaps it could be a combination of things.  I am under a lot of stress at work and my husband was in a small car accident.  And to make things worse, our main water line to the house had a leak and the entire line had to be replaced.  Thankfully, my husband is fine but the water line was a major repair.  All just too much for me to handle right now.  And when I start to feel anxious and overwhelmed, I tend to shut down.  I know that there are far more troubles in the world but it all all really got to me for some reason.   This is very unusual for me.  I am always the one with a positive attitude and the one that looks to make lemonade out of lemons.   I know full well that I have to pull myself out of this funk and creative paralysis so I deci
