Peonies ~ The Queen Of The Garden
Hello... I hope you are all doing well. It was another warm and sunny weekend here. Well, it feels more like true hot summer heat around here to tell you the truth but I am not going to complaint since we our winter was terribly long and cold.
Nothing special going on. The weekend was just taking care of normal house work. I have been enjoying a little time off and to spend time with family doing some local touring on the weekends. We visited lovely Longwood Gardens, Lambertville, NJ, New Hope, PA and the Jersey Shore. All very refreshing for the soul and incredibly inspiring.
Most of all, I have enjoyed spending time in my garden. May is pure magic for the garden. It is what I dream about all winter. Warm sun, blue skies, pretty green grass and new blooms announcing the arrival of spring and summer. But there is nothing more anticipated than the opening of my peony blooms.
Here I share a few photos that capture all their majestic beauty. I hope you enjoy.

Like jewels in the garden.... The peony is almost regal.... Its delicate petals and fragrant charm captivate our hearts as well as our sight.... I can't imagine a more majestic flower in the garden.
Don't you just love all the pretty shades of pink???
Delicate blooms that speak to the heart.
It is difficult to determine where inspiration begins and ends when graced by such luscious blooms.
I hope May was as beautiful and glorious in your garden as it was in mine.
Fondly,
Janet

ReplyDeleteHello sweet friend... Thank you for the kind words. I love peonies and capturing their beauty with my camera will let me enjoy them for much longer... I visit Longwood Gardens each year and it grows more magnificent and spectacular with each visit. They are now restoring the gorgeous vintage fountains and I can't wait to see the final restoration. I do hope that you get to visit these enchanting gardens someday. I will share a few pictures with you guys soon.

My dearest Janet, given that your peonies are so gorgeous and given that I think them to be the most beautiful flowers in a garden after roses, I think this post of yours to be wonderfully lovely !!!

What gorgeous blooms, and such a pretty vignette you have created. I love peonies too, they smell wonderful, and remind me of my mom's gardens. Love your pretty vintage tea cup, too!
ReplyDeleteYour peony blooms are absolutely gorgeous and paired perfectly with your teacup and pearls. I can see why you are so happy this time of year. I love it too.

ReplyDeletebeautiful peonies. The whole setting is just so romantic.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely delightful!!! I do envy you these beautiful blooms, I too wait for mine to open in the spring. This year I didn't pay enough attention to the weather and when I got up Monday morning it had rained in the night...ruining my lovely blooms. So thank you for these wonderful pictures!

ReplyDeleteJanet, your peonies are gorgeous! I love all the ruffly, soft pink and cream petals. It must be wonderful to be able to just go out and pick them from your garden. Unfortunately peonies won't grow where I live, it doesn't get cold enough. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your kind comment.
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous (and certainly rival the rose but do not tell her I said that!)!! Thank you for sharing these beautiful photographs on the Art of Home-Making Mondays! :)
