Old Wooden Spools

Hello friends.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am sure we all celebrated with a little too much food during the holiday.   But who wouldn't with all the delicious and heart warming fall vegetables flowing at local farm stands and markets.  Or the savory turkeys and hams that were the true stars of our Thanksgiving tables.  And who can pass on a holiday dessert.  Not me that's for sure. And now, I am slowly working my way into Christmas. I do love the holidays after all, it is a fun and exciting time of the year.  But it can also a be stressful time of the year with all the Christmas decorating, holiday gatherings and the madness of the holiday shopping season.  Truth is, I do love all the craziness and rush that the holidays bring because I know that our home will be filled with family and friends during the holiday season.  Especially the new grandbabies that will be celebrating their first Christmas this year.  It will be a joyous and blssed time for sure.

Thanksgiving Table Inspiration

Hello friends.  Can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here??  For me, it is a very exciting time of the year. Time to gather with family and friends.  Spending time with our loved ones is the best gift of all. It is also the start of the holiday season and time to start planning all the Christmas decorations and to be thankful for all our blessings.  And although there were some very challenging and trying moments this year, there is still so much to be thankful for.   One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is to set the table beginning with our Thanksgiving table which I love to decorate with falls warm color palette.  For this table, I selected Spode's Delamere pattern with a lovely shade of brown.  To keep it a bit more casual, I added a few natural accents mixed with informal seasonal pieces. A small white pumpkin with a pretty fall spray anchors each place setting.   I love this shade of burnt orange with this pretty brown transferware,

The Versatile Accent Chair

Accent chairs are absolutely an essential part of any room.  They can be used to spice up a room or add texture and personality to a space.  Chairs can also be used to fill up those areas of a room that look a bit plain. The options are endless my friends.  My favorite way to use an accent chair is to add a splash of bold color and visual interest in a room. A perfect example is the room pictured below.  There is nothing color-shy about this room.  It is simply stunning.  Chic and modern with contemporary pieces that pull the room together without being overly done.  The pink chairs add that unexpected splash of color that create instant drama in the room. In addition to adding appeal to a room, accent chairs should also be comfortable and inviting. Club Club chairs with an ottoman are a great choice.  The arrangement below is perfect for a guest room or just for curling up with a book or cup of  tea. The Classic Wingback Chair Wing chairs are
