Scones And Strawberry Jam

Hello world.  Happy Saturday to you all.  It's been a rainy kind of day around here.  Not a good day for pictures so I have spent most of my day in the kitchen making chicken pot pies, scones and strawberry jam to enjoy with my hubby tomorrow.  I love to cook but with my very busy schedule, a relaxing day in the kitchen is hard to come by.  So whenever I get a chance to spend a day in my kitchen, it is a very good day.  Plus it makes my hubby really happy because he knows that plenty of goodies will be coming his way.  And my little pooch parks right next to the stove when mama is in the kitchen.  So funny...    While cleaning out my refrigerator this morning, I noticed that the strawberries were starting to pass their peak. Not wanting  to toss them, I made a quick single-batch of strawberry jam.  It doesn't take very long. The entire process, from cutting the strawberries, cooking and spooning the cooked jam into a jar, takes about 30 to 40 minutes.  Not too bad for h

Purple Flowers and Treasured Linens

How much do we love crisp linens?  A pristine and white tablecloth is a perfect choice for giving your table instant elegance.  It can also be a fresh backdrop for any spring table palette.  Linen Guest Towels such as the ones used on my post today are even more special and an added little luxury.  What's more, they are a simply way to add  beauty and polish in a guest room.  But what is truly special about these beautiful and perfectly preserved linen towels is that they were a gift from my lovely sister-in-law Lilly.  It was such a sweet and thoughtful gift.  It really touched my heart.  Regardless of their true worth, they are a priceless family treasure to me.  I am forever grateful...   Inspired by this lovely gift, I created this very delicate and appealing vignette using nature's loveliest offerings.  Flowers in shades of purple and soft lavender turn out to be a beautiful inspiration for a spring tea time.  A true vision of romance and timeless beauty.

Serene Beauty

Happy Saturday to you all.  I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  We had the prettiest day today. The sky was blue and bright.  It was warm enough to open up the windows are let the breeze in.  Such a perfect day to enjoy my home.  I did all the things which I have not been able to do in the last few weeks like reading and glancing through the pages of my favorite magazines, napping and watching cooking shows.  This is my version of a  perfect day.  I also got to play with my camera a bit. I put together this sweet vignette using a soft cream and calming palette.  I love the way it turned out.  So light and feminine.   The flowers are faux but they add a certain romance to the look. These are Spode tea cups in the Billingsley pattern.  There are so delicate. I could never leave out my pearls.  They add such femininity. I always enjoy sharing a bit of inspiration and loveliness with you all.  It gives me great joy to rea

Gender Reveal Party

Have you heard of a Gender Reveal Party before???  I know I had not until my niece Daniella asked me to plan a reveal party for her.  This seems to be the latest trend these days.  It is a party planned by the parents-to-be in which they learn their baby's sex by cutting into a cake.  The color inside the cake reveals the gender of the baby and the couple shares the news with family and close friends. The way it works, parents-to-be have a technician write the child's sex on a piece of paper that is placed in an envelope then it is dropped off at a bakery where a cake is baked in the appropriate color and covered in icing to hide the news.  Do you get it??  I am still debating on this one. Here are a few shots that I took when I was setting the tables.  Things got very busy shortly after that.. Beautiful and delicate cookies baked by my sweet sister-in-law Lilly.  Aren't they the cuttest?? Love these small milk bottles.  I just added

Pink Affair

Ok I admit it, I love pink.  I just can't get enough of this soft hue.  It just makes me feel happy and girly.  And to have found these sweet pastel pink tulips at my local grocery store was simply delightful.   I just can't live without pretty flowers in my life.  It is the one indulgence that I allow myself every week.  Flowers are the perfect way to bring beauty and color into a home.  You will always find me here, in my favorite spot in garden.  It it where I am the happiest. The day was perfect to create an intimate outdoor table for two. Pink tulips casually arranged in a silver water pitcher influence the romantic scene.  Homer Laughlin Georgian Eggshell plates never go unnoticed.  They are simply stunning. An ideal spot for enjoying a delightful brunch.     Wishing you a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for taking the time to visit and leaving me your sweet comment.  It truly warms my heart. Hugs, Jane
