Romantic & Girly Tablescape

Hello everyone.  I hope your week was productive and wonderful.

Today I am happy to share the girliest brunch table you've ever seen which is  full of charming, romance and plenty of feminine touches. Besides, who doesn't want a little bit of loveliness and romance in their life from time to time.

For this table, I stayed true to my romantic style.  And you already know that I love mixing pretty vintage china with modern pieces.  I just think it adds personality and makes an everyday meal extra special.  But to successfully mix and match dinnerware, you'll need to keep a few things in mind.  First, gather an assortment of dinner plates, salad plates, tea cups, glassware and flatware.  Edit what you have!!  Remove anything that clashes from the mix, keep only those pieces with complementary colors.

For balance, use a dominating color palette for your tablescape.  For this table, the dominating color palette for this table is blue and white.  Frankly, blue and white never gets old for me.  It is always a perfect combination.  Since my small accent plates are pale blue, I chose to layer powder pink and white plates to compliment their delicate beauty.

When it comes to mixing patterns on  tablescape, do not worry about getting it wrong.  Just be sure to vary the scale!  If you are using a floral accent plate then use a neutral tone dinner and salad plate to add depth.  It will also make your floral plate stand out even more.

Don't forget the table jewelry!!!  Add complementary glassware and flatware. For a modern take on a vintage style table, I like to use modern gold toned flatware and colored stemware.

For flowers, whether fresh or faux, use colors complementary to those found on the plates.

When it comes to giving your table personality and interest, remember to use unexpected objects - consider vintage vases, candleholders, jewelry, delicate heirlooms.  Here, I added my signature pearls, roses and small vintage bust which adds femininity and flair.

I hope my tips for setting a romantic table are helpful and it inspires you to create your own version. I think this table would be ideal for a girly brunch, bridal shower or Mother's Day.

So remember, whether you are serving filet mignon or toast and jam, make it beautiful.

Have a lovely weekend sweet friends.

Janet
