I love setting a pretty table. It is my passion!!! Many things inspire me to create a pretty table for friends and family to enjoy. A simple flower bouquet found at my local market, an eye catching fabric or pretty vintage plates found at a thrift shop. Most of all, I am inspired by the people that will gather around my table. And so for this seasonal table, I was inspired by the lovely ladies in my life.
Keeping in mind all of their bright and cheery personalities, I created a table using colors their favorite colors. Ones that I know make them feel happy and sunny.
I started by layering my table linens. I used a basic white table cloth and placed a shorter bright yellow cloth on top of it to add color to my table. For spring, I don't think you can get a brighter or fresher look than adding yellow to a table. But actually, any pastels would be just as lovely.
Next, I turned to the place settings, I began with my all time favorite white dinner plate which is by Lenox in the Federal Gold Pattern. I then added another favorite pattern to my place setting... Floral salad plates and tea cups from Mikasa in the Touch of Spring pattern. This is such a delicate pattern and one that I find to be perfect for any spring/summer gathering.
I finished each place setting with simple gold flatware and a green and white gingham napkin.
I didn't use a plate charger because I didn't want to cover the yellow of the tablecloth.
Crystal and light purple stemware pick up the colors of the china. Isn't this tea cup Lovely?
I added a place card and mini vanilla cup cake to each table setting. I also placed the pretty lilac flowers on the cupcakes. It think it ties everything together and makes each place setting extra special.
On the center of the table, I placed two ceramic bunnies and filled them with pastel jelly beans.
I had to get creative with my centerpiece for this one. I was not happy with the flowers I originally purchased for this table. I found them to be too dark after I bought them so I used a faux floral arrangement and added a few natural tulips for effect. One has to be resourceful at times....
I even made pastel colored jelly bean bark and a blueberry cheese cake......
I hope you enjoyed your visit here today. It was my pleasure sharing my spring inspired table with you. Please head over to visit the other wonderful ladies sharing their pretty spring tablescapes today.
Have a Glorious Spring!!!
