Afternoon In The Garden

Happy Sunday friends.  I hope you are all having a restful day.

Today, I am sharing a few photos that I shot in our garden last month when the temperatures were in the 70's believe it or not.  I was so excited about the spring like weather that I rushed to our garden to set-up a pretty table to enjoy a cup of tea and a few sweet treats with my husband.

Even though there were no pretty flowers adorning the landscape, it felt wonderful to be able to spend an a few hours in the garden.  Having clear blue skies and feeling the warmth of the sun was plenty for this gal to be grateful for.
What is it about the spring that makes us so excited???  I guess it is the promise of natures rebirth and the warm sunny days that makes everyone smile....

Days after these sweet photos were taken, we were hit with a winter blizzard. The ground is still covered with snow even though spring begins tomorrow.  Like it or not, we must respect mother nature's will and so we begin dreaming of spring again.

Thank you for being here today.  I wish you a lovely week.

Janet

Your pictures are so lovely. And what a wonderful afternoon you and your husband had. It's so crazy that one day you sit in the garden and think it's spring, the next day you have snow...
But it's so good you enjoyed the lovely day.

Wish you a wonderful new week.

  5. Dear Janet,
glad to hear that you had a spring-like day in your garden! I am also looking forward to spring, being happy for every warm day. I really enjoyed your pictures of this lovely decorated table! I especially like your tureen filled with these beautiful roses. I have a tureen similar to yours and too love using it as a vase. I hope the cold weather will soon pass, and you can enjoy more lovely warm spring days!
    Best wishes,
    Lisa

  8. The weather has been a fickle ....! This spring has certainly tried my patience, but then it is only the middle of March so what do we expect---tea in the garden, that's what. Such a pretty setting you have made here, sigh. Soon we need Spring Soon! Sandi

  14. Janet this table setting and scene is oozing with cottage romance. It looks like something out of one of my favorite period style TV series.

We were hit yesterday with about one foot of snow again. Just when it was starting to melt... boom... We have several feet yet, so spring blooms is a long way off for us.

Today your post was featured on my features for Thursday Favorite Things. Just a note about the link party- Our scheduled time for going live is now at 7 a.m MST instead of Wednesday evenings.

Thank you for sharing with us. Your post is Pinned in our Thursday Favorite Things group board.

    1. Hello Olivia,

Sorry for my delayed response. I have been so busy lately... I am just catching up with my emails.

Thank you for paying me such high compliment. To be compared to a TV series is truly an honor. I hope you are all done with the snow by you. Spring is still on and off here... I am definitely looking forward to warmer days in our garden.. I have had enough o f the cold and gloomy days already.

Thank you also for the feature.. I am very grateful.
