Winter White Tablescape

While the ground is covered in a blanket of sparkling snow, I cannot help feeling thankful by the warmth and comfort we enjoy indoors.  Home seems so much precious when freezing winter winds blow and early darkness settles in.  And after all the red and greens of the holiday season, crisp winter whites are especially lifting.

So I gathered a few vintage Spode plates with an abundance of creamy white tones to set my first tablescape of 2017.  A timeless go-to hue that brings a freshness to even the dullest winter days.  I also love mixing old and new pieces and with creamy whites, it becomes almost effortless

Here, I have mixed vintage china with modern stemware purchased from the dollar store and napkins from Pottery Barn.  I think collectively, they add a perfect balance to the table with texture, shape and tone.  The quiet cream tone and soft bursts of greens bring elegance and softness.  A table for contemplating and easy conversation.

I wish you ll a lovely week.

  13. Oh Janet,
I absolutely adore that Spode china. I only have one teacup and tea plate and have tried bidding on it but it is so costly! The textured trim and pale pink rose is so beautiful. Your table looks so inviting. Wish we were closer so that I could pop by and admire your pretties! Blessings, Karen

  15. I found your blog through Jigsaw Planet. Someone named Patticake used one of your photos and left your watermark on it.
I used to have a home style blog before we sold our house to go cruising. Now we live on a boat that we sailed out of San Francisco two years ago. Presently in Florida working our way north this summer.
Your blog is lovely. You have even more dishes than I did! How do you store all of them?
