Summer Entertaining ~ Refreshments In The Garden

Hello everyone and happy fourth of July to you all.  We are back from a mini vacation in Chestertown, Maryland where we enjoyed a few relaxed and quiet days at a lovely bed and breakfast called the Brampton Inn.  (I will share those photos with you later.)  The seafood in Chestertown and Rock Hall was incredible but I am done with crab cakes and shrimp for a while now.  A steak and potatoes Au Gratin sound pretty good to me right now so that is exactly what we are having for dinner today with some sweet Jersey corn.

As much as I look forward to going, coming home from a trip is even more exciting if that makes any sense.  I am such a homebody.  I jut can't help it.  I am one of those souls that is truly happy and content in their home.  I am enamored with our home and completely captured by its charmed.  It is not a palace by any means, but it is where I feel the happiest.

So today, I am sharing a few photos that I took last Sunday in our garden.  I always love to tell a story with my photographs.  Perhaps of a relaxed afternoon in the garden, a day enjoying my favorite items or a story of fairy tales.  I hope they bring some joy to your day.

The gorgeous flowers featured in this post came from my sister-in-law's garden at the Jersey Shore. Aren't they incredible?  Thank you for sharing Lilly.....

Thank you for visiting me today sweet friends.  Wishing you a beautiful week.

Hugs,

Janet

  2. Hi, Janet, this is my first visit to your blog. I'm visiting from The Art of Home-Making Mondays.

Your photos are lovely. You have perfectly captured a beautiful, tranquil setting. I would enjoy taking tea in your garden with you.

I am a homebody too, and after too many weeks of being busier than I like, I have been home since after church yesterday. I'm hoping to stay home until at least Wednesday.

    Blessings,
    Patti @ Embracing Home

  7. Janet, I love your outdoor setting. You always inspire me. So much so that I decided to do a little outdoor setting on July 4th myself! Love the colors. Everything is beautiful. I know how you feel about home. There is NO PLACE I would rather be. I always say, "No one would want what I have but I don't want them too either". (LOL) Can't wait to see pictures of your little getaway. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  12. What beautiful hydrangeas!! Blue!!! One of my favorite flowers and favorite color too. When we lived in Chile-SA (for 2.5 yrs) we have a great blue hydrangea seen from the inside the bedroom through the french doors. That blue was lovely. I love, love hydrangeas. Thank you for the lovely photos and the memories it brought back.
