Tablescapes ~ Garden Table With Lilacs

Hello everyone.  I hope you all had a lovely mother's day weekend.  Ours was very relaxed and quiet which gave me the chance to spend the day in my garden.  And what a joy to be in the garden these days.  It is amazing to see the transformation.  It is just glorious to watch the explosion of colors through out the garden.  Nature in all it's glory.

Spring is also the season for lilacs and with four lilac bushes in my garden, there are plenty cut and enjoy in our home.  I have long loved their beauty and pretty scent and now that I have them in my own garden, I can celebrate them and admire them all day long.  Or at least for the next two or three weeks since they don't last very long.  Did you know that Victorians who doted on the language of flowers, lilacs meant "the emotions of first love".

I also put together this sweet and delicate garden table to share the joys of my garden and to give you some inspiration...

I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Fondly,

Janet

  3. Beautiful setting for a tablescape. The china is so pretty...love that it coordinates with the lilacs. The past several years it has been very rainy when my lilacs are in bloom so I don't get to enjoy them as much.

  18. Janet, I can almost smell the lilacs! I grew up with a lilac tree in our backyard and I miss being able to go out and pick an arm-full of blooms. Everything on your table is so pretty! I especially like the tablecloth and the lavender plates-- I have some bowls and plates in the same pattern, but in red. Thanks for visiting my blog!

  23. Oh my Janet, I adore your gorgeous dishes! I too love Lilacs! I have three dwarf Korean Lilacs in bloom right now and their scent is heavenly! I have a French one that is just in bud and I can't wait! Last year it only had three blooms. This year there are a lot more. With my 3 dwarfs I've planted 6 lilacs. All are just a few years old and still small. I added a Sensation lilac this year. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
