An Autumn Afternoon Gathering

Happy Saturday to you all.  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  It's been a typical Saturday around here.  Laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping.  A normal weekend for many of us.

Fall has certainly made its entrance around these parts.  It is a festival of colors everywhere.  Crisp, cool breezes in the air and pretty leaves adorn the many landscapes.  An irresistible color palette that inspires me to create this lovely table for an afternoon gathering with very special friends.

My china pattern of choice for this autumn inspired tea was Royal Doulton's Gleneagles.  A magnificent explosion of delicate flowers that pick up the all the rich hues of fall.

Oneida silver plate flatware adds an elegant touch to the table setting,

A perfect autumn palette delights our table for a lovely fall afternoon brunch.

Classic Royal Doulton Gleneagles china.

Such a sweet and feminine teacup.

Delicious mini pumpkin cakes are the sweet treats of choice for this gathering.

This recipe is a must.  It is so light and tasty.  Perfect to enjoy with a warm cup of tea or coffee.  I found the recipe on Pinterest and the original source was Kitchen Meets Girl.  Wonderful cake.

Thank you for visiting me today.  Please give this yummie recipe a try.  The link for the full recipe is listed below.

Wishing you a beautiful autumn.

Janet

  5. Good morning sweet Janet! What a lovely hostess you are; as I scrolled down and read your menu and plans and saw your photos, I just felt so welcomed around your table. How gorgeous of a fall this has been, and its inspired many of us in so many ways! Here in Minneapolis, the colors were the best we've ever seen them and the temperatures warmer than normal. My table yesterday for a guest was simple, but WOW did it make me smile. I put out some silver, a grayish tablecloth, white plates....did it make my heart skip a beat!

Thank you so much for coming to visit me! Yes, I love teaching French, and I try to make sure those kids have some fun. I teach both middle school and high school and those teens are precious souls.

Enjoy your Sunday and have fun getting ready for the festivities to come! Anita

  6. Your china is utterly lovely. I have my grandmother's old china and it is okay, but I would love something beautiful like yours.

Thanks for the sweet comments on my flower post. We are still feeling like summer here. All the windows are thrown open and we spent some time on the beach. Kids were still playing in the water in bathing suits. That is not common at this time of year. In fact, most of the year people wear wetsuits, but this year continues to be warm all the way into November now.
