The Gift of Lilacs

Happy Mother's Day ladies.  I hope your day was filled with lots of hugs, laughter and family.  I am still enjoying my blooming lilac bushes.  They don't have too many more blooms left but I am thankful for their presence in my garden and the beauty they bring.  It is a gardener's reward to enjoy such a gift from nature. Each spring we wait with great anticipation to see these elegant and fragrant flowers grace our gardens.  And I make sure to enjoy them until their very last bloom.

Today, I set a delicate and feminine table in my garden adorned with these lovely flowers.  I started with a white table cloth and then added a checked white and lavender table topper with matching napkins.  I added lavender plate chargers that my hubby painted for me and topped with a light purple dinner plate found at Home Goods last year.  And of course it had to had pearls somewhere on the table so I used this elegant pearl napkin holder to finish the look.

I just love this these soft shades of lavender.  There is something so comforting and soothing about these colors.  It is like stepping into an eternal fairy tale.

Isn't this the sweetest tea pot?   Is is part of a larger set I found at a local thrift shop.

I so enjoy these delicate checked linens.  Perfectly stylish and classically feminine.

This was another dated gold charger which I decided to give new life to.  It is the perfect shade of lavender.  I now that I will now get plenty of use out of it.

A few photos of my Lilacs.  Can you smell them??

I hope you enjoyed my little piece of paradise and romantic table set in my garden.  Have a wonderful Sunday my sweet friends.  Thank you all for your lovely and kinds comments.  They truly make my day to read each and everyone.

Hugs,

Janet

  19. What a lovely tea table. And the lilacs! We had to surrender our lilac bushes last year because of the need of moving a little building. This make we think we should perhaps make an effort to add one or two somewhere else!

  26. Oh, Janet, my, my, my. Just gorgeous!!! I am inhaling as I scroll through your pictures. My lilacs have not yet bloomed and I am afraid I may be away when they finally do during this late spring. When I was a girl and teen my bedroom was decorated with that exact purple gingham. Ruffles and purple, on the windows, walls and bed. I LOVED it. I hope you don't mind that I pinned to my purple passion board. I couldn't resist! Your hubby updated those chargers perfectly. Linda

  28. I'm finally getting around to visiting everyone from the tea gathering this week and see I've saved the best for last. Your feminine tea table with all the lavender is pretty and I wish I could join you in person. I have some plastic lavender chargers from Michael's but the paint is chipping a bit and think I should paint mine too - yours turned out very nice.
