Pink Splendor

Happy Sunday to you all.  I hope your weekend was as fun and lovely as mine.  I have been a very busy bee the last few weekends.  Lots of small projects around the house and refreshing some of the rooms on our first floor.  We also went to Winterthur Mansion in Delaware to view the exhibition of the exquisite costumes of Downton Abbey.  What an amazing experience.  I will definitely share a few pictures on my next post.

It was a perfect sunny day here in the Northeast.  A bit windy in the morning but warm enough to enjoy the afternoon in my garden.  Not much color yet.  But the various shades of green provide enough beauty to make the garden a peaceful and relaxing spot.

Wanting to add a bit of color in the garden, I created a sweet and spring inspired table with various shades of pink and green.

An old gold plate charger has been given new life with pink spray paint.  What a terrific transformation. Wooden bird houses were painted a cream color and covered with fabric that matches the table topper.

Dinner napkins made to match.  Love this dainty and feminine fabric.
It have used it for a few little projects already.

A bit of moss and a few roses complete the look.

A pretty place setting for a lovely afternoon in the garden.

Thank you for your visit sweet friends.  Your comments are such a joy to read and they truly make my heart happy.

Have a great week.

Hugs,

Janet

  6. Good Morning Janet, You have made me remember that when Spring arrives it is a beautiful season. I know that might seem an odd thing to say, but the days are still cold and grey, here in the North of England and it would be lovely to enjoy a little sunshine. The pinks and greens which you have chosen for your tablescape are beautiful. I love your idea of spraying the chargers, as I have a set of gold chargers which I use at Christmas, but like you, I feel if they were a different colour I would use them more. Thank you for the inspiration.
    Best Wishes
    Daphne

    1. Hello pretty Daphne. I hope your days in England are getting a bit warmer and brighter. I am happy to say that it is finally looking and feeling like spring around here. People are happier and friendly. It must be the sun and the pretty blooms that has everyone in such great spirits. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me your lovely comment. It truly makes me happy to read such pretty words. Do paint those old chargers. You will be glad you did. Come back for a peek at my photos of the Downton Abbey costumes exhibit. I am posting them this evening.

  25. Hi Janet,
What an absolutely adorable table setting! I adore little bird houses. If you could have seen my kitchen a few years ago, you would understand my love for them. I had collected them and painted them for years and had them all displayed above my cabinets. Now I have teapots up there. I really love pink and green together. It's so fresh and pretty. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
