A Pretty Vignette

Happy Friday friends.  Isn't fun and relaxing to play and admire our beautiful collected vintage items.  Their beauty is truly unmatched.   Such attention to detail and quality.  Such romantic hearts that designed such a piece.

So delicate and feminine.  I often wonder about their past.  Who owned them???  What kind of stories can they tell...  How did they end up at an antiques shop or flea market???  I guess I can continue to dream and use my imagination.

These dainty tea cups are were made by Pope Gosser.  It is the Rose Point pattern.

Pretty yellow roses in a vintage silver coffee pot and pearls compliment my little vignette perfectly.

Wishing you all a restful and wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Feminine Afternoon Tea

Hello friends.  Happy Friday to you all.  What have you been up to??  Busy days ahead for me..  Getting ready for our niece's wedding in Puerto Rico next month.  I hope to loose a few pounds before the wedding so I have to try to stay away from baking until after the wedding in November.  I don't know how I will pull it off since I love to bake and this just heavenly weather to be in the kitchen for those delicious seasonal sweets treats.  Wish me luck girls.

And talking about heavenly weather, it is been just beautiful here in the East Coast.  You just can't help but make the most out of all outdoor activities since winter is sure to sneak up on us soon.  But in the meantime, I will take advance of my garden for as long as I can.

I created this lovely and feminine table to enjoy a little afternoon tea with a dear friend who has had little time for herself lately taking care of everyone else.  But we all know someone like that don't we...  I wanted to give her a few moments of quiet time.  Time to relax, sit back and laugh a little.

So I put together this lovely setting for two busy women to enjoy a cup of tea, savor a delicious home made scone, chat a little,  and enjoy each others company.

I wish you all a beautiful and lovely weekend.  Thank you for stopping by.  Your visits and comments are my reward.

Perfect Fall Day

Hello my sweet friends.  It is another beautiful fall day here in my part of the United States. The sun is out, shining brightly. The air is warm and the temperatures are in the low 70s. There is a slight breeze blowing, but it's not cold.

What a change from what the weatherman called for at the beginning of the week.  He said that it was supposed to rain from Thursday through Sunday. I am glad and very happy that the weather changed and we were left with a beautiful fall day.  The weather is perfect to open up the windows, listen to some music and do a little house cleaning.  I just love days like this to catch up on those chores I've been putting off.  One of those is cleaning and changing my dishes on china cabinet in the dining room.  Perfect time to bring out those pretty fall dishes.

I also took a little time sit in the garden to enjoy my new autumn issue of Victoria Magazine.  So much inspiration.   I even snapped a few shots to share with you today.  I feel so accomplished ladies.
Well, it is time to continue with my to-do-list.  It was lovely to pop in for a quick hello.  I hope you all had a great weekend.

Morning In The Garden

Another beautiful morning here in the Northeast.  What a delightful sunny day.  The weather is still summer like and perfect to enjoy this amazing morning in nature.  As I wrap myself in this tranquil and peaceful blanket that my garden has to offer, I gather a few pretty pieces to make it even more inviting and relaxing.

The colors for this were vignette were actually inspired by this beautiful fall flower arrangement that I purchased for myself.  Yes, I do that from time to time...I just can't resist pretty flowers.  A vintage linen topper and napkins and Royal Doulton tea cups in the Gleneagles pattern give the table a nostalgic look.  Aren't these pieces gorgeous??  There is nothing more beautiful than setting a table with unique vintage finds.  They have a certain magic and nostalgic feel that newer pieces can not provide.  A good book and a healthy snack complete this heavenly retreat in my beloved garden.

I hope these pictures bring a little sunshine to your day and inspire you to create your own little cozy spot too.

Bridal Shower

Last Sunday was my lovely niece's bridal shower.  What a happy and memorable occasion.  This was truly a labor of love.  All the food, sweets and decorating were done by the mother of the bride and myself.  It was a gigantic undertaking but what an amazing time we all had putting this magnificent bridal shower together.

It was truly magical from beginning to end and very rewarding to see it all come together so beautifully.  And most importantly, the future bride was extremely happy with it all.

I sneaked a few photographs between all the baking and set-up to share with you all.  I hope you enjoy.

A silver charger and simple white plates with a touch of silver give this setting an elegant touch.  A sweet rose and dove rings add a romantic flair.

No detail was missed.  Even the sugars were colored and shaped for the tea party.  These were made by the mother of the bride too.

All flower arrangements were made by the mother of the bride.  Aren't these just gorgeous.

Place cards were made by Lilly, mother of the bride.

Tea sets and tea cups were placed displayed through out the house.

I made these sweet and feminine chocolate candies.

Macaroons were also made by Lilly.  So delicate and yummy.

I made these pretty and girlie petit fours.  They were filled with homemade strawberry jam.

These sweet chocolate truffles were made by Caro, sister of the bride.

Heart shaped cookies made by Lilly

I am the baker in the family so many of the desserts were made by me.  Such as these mini cheese cakes topped with various fruits.  I also made these lemon and raspberries tarts.  So delicious and spectacular looking too.  I can go for one right about now.

And this is our beautiful and gorgeous bride to be Adrianne enjoying a few of her treats.

Lovely picture of bride to be with sister Caroline, and mom Lilly.  Don't you love the hat?  So fashionable.
