Serene Escape

Happy Sunday friends.  I hope you all had a lovely and restful weekend.  It's been raining non-stop here in the Northeast.  Hot and very humid.  Thank goodness for air conditioners.
I have been keeping busy around the house.  I have been working on our master bedroom.  Giving it a bit of a romantic makeover using soft light colors, pretty flowers, vintage silver and crystal to create a relaxed and welcoming setting.  It is about picking out pieces that speak to ones heart to design the perfect retreat.
Not one to waste an opportunity to take a few pretty shots, I gathered a couple of the pieces that inspired my bedroom makeover.  Floral fabric, vintage tea cups, cherub candle holder, fresh flowers, hot tea and a raspberry and lemon cake made the perfect setting to take a break from the house work on this rainy afternoon.  What a peaceful and serene escape to enjoy a few pages of Carolyn Aiken's book.  This book is such a treasure chest for inspiration.  The images are simply stunning.
Well friends, I hope you all have a wonderful and creative week.  Thank you for your visit and for taking the time to leave me your sweet and kind words.  They mean a great deal to me.

Quiet Charm

Hello friends.  Today, I want to share a few images I took last week.  It was a quiet Saturday morning.  Too early for anyone in the house to be up.  Perfect time to put a little vignette together and take a few shots with my new camera.  I am still getting to know the camera so it is a  must that I play in order to learn right??

Taking advantage of the natural light peeking through the window in my reading room, I dressed up my little side table with a pretty white linen topper and a few little pretty items gathered from around the house and this is what I came up with.  Could you believe the roses in this pitcher are already going on two weeks ...

Have a lovely and wonderful week.  Thank you for coming.  Your kind words truly make me happy.

Afternoon In The Garden

Happy Thursday everyone.  Today I thought I share my favorite way to unwind after a long hard day at work.  It is this little corner of my garden.  This solitary sanctuary surrounded by sun-kissed and fragrant flowers make this the ideal spot for a tranquil and relaxing afternoon.
I often sit here with a favorite book or one of my go to magazines.  Perhaps with a little snack and a cup of tea or coffee.  It is my alone time.  Precious, important and greatly needed in this crazy busy world.  What is your favorite spot to relax??
I like to set my little table with a nostalgic appeal.  Combined with a mixture of treasures old and new, gives me a sense of comfort.   The refreshing spirit of my garden truly warms my soul and invites me to enjoy the respite of a lazy afternoon.
Have a lovely day friends.  Thank you for visiting.  Your sweet and kind words are truly appreciated.

Shades of Pink

Happy Friday friends.  I hope you all had a lovely week.  It is going to be a very wet weekend around these parts.  The rain arrived early this morning and it has not stopped all day.  I guess it is a good thing for the grass and all the pretty flowers.
I am still taking advantage of the flowers in my garden.  I got to pick a few of the last peonies left in my garden and the delicate blush climbing roses along the fence...  Both equally beatiful and elegant and the inspiration for this little vignette I put together yesterday.  I paired them with my favorite tea cup.  It is by Nikko Japan in the rose pattern.
Have a pleasant weekend.  I hope you can take the time to smell the flowers.  Thank you for stopping by and leaving me your sweet and kind words.

Peonies From My Garden

Hello all.  I hope you are all staying cool on this terribly hot day.  What an entrance for the month of June.  The humidity is just unbearable to plan anything outdoors.  I feel so bad for my poor flowers.  the heat is just too much for them to take.
I have been busy playing in my garden though.  Enjoying all the beauty that surrounds me.  Picking away roses and peonies.  June is just a magical month.  It brings all the magic that nature has to offer bringing to life all our early spring flowers.  I have so many roses and peonies this year.  Enough to place a floral arrangement in each and every room of our home.  It is such a pleasure to be able to pick such beautiful flowers from my own garden.  Each day a new bloom to discover....
Today I am sharing a few pictures of the peonies I picked yesterday morning.  They truly take your breath away.  I hope you all have a lovely and wonderful week.
Thank you for your visiting and leaving such lovely and kind comments.
