Snow Day

Happy Sunday friends.  It's been bitterly cold here in the Northeast.  The snow has stopped fallen and hopefully the temperatures will be kind to us for a while.  Not one to venture into the bitter cold and snow, it was the perfect day to finish my Christmas decorations, bake and play a little yesterday.  Boxes of decorations came up from the basement, tree is finally out of its storage bags and wreaths are hung on all doors and mirrors around the house.  As I decorate my tree, I can't help but think of all the little stories and memories that each ornament that I hang brings to mind.  Which special niece or nephew made this one, which special friend gifted one.  All heart-touching and tokens of happy times past.

Christmas has finally arrived.  The tree is ready, the house is bright and ready to welcome those we love.

It was also the perfect day to curl up on a big cozy chair to enjoy a bit of tea and admire the beautiful snow fallen outside.  Here is a little vignette I put together yesterday and a few photos of the Christmas decorations through out the house.   Have a wonderful week all.

  10. You did a fantastic job decorating about the house. I saw so many of my favourites, like the Christmas tree plates, snowman, knit deer and I love your big Santa. Your tree is so pretty, and the silver tea set, yup just some of my fav's.

I often think of the memories when putting the ornaments on the tree especially if they wre ones the kids made. Enjoy your week, Merry Christmas

  16. Wow, the snow has really fallen and it is a great day for decorating! The weather here has finally warmed 72 degrees the last few days after I snow and ice. The Christmas vignette with the holly teapot is so sweet. I love your puppy Christmas photo with the cute Santa suit. My collie has her Christmas picture at the bottom of my post this week and I hope you will take a peek!
