My Pretty Lilacs

It is the perfect spring day.  Beautiful clear blue skies and temperature in the 70's...  Just perfect to spend my day in the garden. I put out my patio furniture, added a few decorative pieces and began trimming a few bushes and the roses along the fence.  I also took a few clippings from my lilac bushes to enjoy in the house.

Aside from roses, there is no flower as beautiful and aromatic as Lilacs.  Of the two, Lilacs have a stronger scent, that carries quite a distance.  Unfortunately, Lilacs bloom for only a very brief couple of weeks in the spring.  How sad...  To prolong their presence a little longer, I decided to photograph them in a vignette staged in my dining room.  This is what I came up with friends..

Their beauty is unmatched.   This year I think I will add a few more Lilac bushes is my garden.  Let's see what colors I find.

Thank you friends for visiting.  I hope your weekend is a lovely one..

  9. Your lilacs are so pretty and I love them in the silver tea pot. The pearls are such a feminine touch!! I was hoping to use lilacs in my mother's day table this weekend - but mine are still not quite blooming - my lilac bush did not fare so well this year.
