Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a wonderful and restful weekend. My husband and I finished putting all the Christmas decorations away. We even took time to organize it all. It was a very productive day for sure. And now, I am getting ready for Season 3 of Downton Abbey. I am going to be glued to the television for sure. Are any of you fans? I just can't get enough of this masterpiece.. It is a most for all romantics at heart. It it beautifully written and just exquisite.
The series is set in the fictional Yorkshire county estate of Downton Abbey and depicts the lives of an aristocratic family, The Crawley's and their servants, in the Edwardian and post-Edwardian Era with great events in history having an effect on their lives and on the British social hierarchy. The costumes and settings are stunning...It is like reading a great historical and romantic novel. We get to, at least for an hour, go back in time and re-visit such a lovely and genteel society.
So today, I paid a little tribute to this series by putting together my version of return to loveliness by putting together this most lovely and elegant table setting. I wanted to keep all the tones soft and delicate. Nothing too loud so I decided to keep my color palette clean and neutral. I started with a cream table cloth, cream placemats and napkins. For plates, I decided to use my gorgeous Homer Laughlin "Georgian" Eggshell China in a very soft and creamy color with a delicate floral pattern. I kept the stemware simple and added silver plate candle sticks, flatware and of course, fresh flowers.
Lovely table setting. I love those placemats, so fancy!

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty table setting! I just love those pearl napkins rings. Well I will definately have to put a bit more effort into setting my table now, the family won't know what's come over me! and the food looks scrumptious too!! take care, Maryann
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful table! The china is lovely, and its rim, plus the pearl napkin rings, give just a hint of visual texture. I did a Valentien's table with my Homer Laughlin last year, and I've already been wondering how I could use it again in a different way. And the food...yum! It's a nice touch that you added that picture as well. ~Zuni
