Nemours Mansion & Gardens

Hello my blogger friends... I hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend.  I got the chance to do some local touring yesterday..  I visited Nemours Mansion and Gardens in Wilmington, Delaware.  This was an estate owned by Alfred I. Dupont.  He had it built as token of love for his wife Alicia but sadly enough, Alicia did not return that love to Mr. Dupont.  The estate is based upon Marie Antoinette's Petit Trianon at the Chateau of Versailles in France.  It is a must see if you love French Design..  They only allow for you to photograph the gardens and the exterior.

  2. Janet after seeing this post, I must make this garden a part of my bucket list. I love all things French and no one does design better! How tragic that Mr. DuPont's wife didn't return his love. He certainly built her a beautiful estate! Thank you so much for sharing these gardens at Gardens Galore
